Job Description

MMP are currently recruiting for Gas Service Engineers to join a property and facilities group based in East London, on a 3-6-month contract basis.

You will be required to deliver high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair work across all existing and new projects, including new construction.

Pay Rate:

  • £25.46ph (CIS)

Hours:

  • Mon to Fri (40 hours per week)

Requirements:

  • Own van
  • Own tools
  • Basic DBS Check

Duties:

  • Install new heating systems per manufacturer's instructions and industry standards.
  • Perform general heating engineering and plumbing duties, including reactive repairs and servicing boilers, fires, and appliances.
  • Adhere to manufacturer instructions for repairs and installations.
  • Issue gas safety notices and certificates.
  • Assess and prepare sites before starting work.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments and actions.
  • Conduct routine inspections to prevent issues.
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls, minimising disruption.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through clear communication and professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work, including before and after photos.
  • Leverage expertise in related trades and collaborate with other teams.
  • Use IT equipment (e.g., PDAs) for job monitoring and work allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance team members, sharing knowledge and assisting with tasks.
  • Protect work areas with coverings and move furniture to minimise damage.
  • Maintain regular contact with Technical Supervisors and report issues promptly.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • CCN1, CEN/WAT, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1.
  • CMMDA1, MET1, PART P (desirable)
  • Gas Safe registered.
  • Excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations and procedures.
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality construction projects and efficient output to meet client expectations.
  • Able to be flexible in approach to work and working hours including attending out of hours call out work on a rotational basis.  
  • Excellent communications skills, ability to build positive working relationships with a range of clients, contractors and employees.
  • Capability of taking initiative and working independently.
  • Personal resilience and the ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines.

    About the Role
    Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, the Technical Supervisors will work collaboratively with other colleagues across the business and within the designated service (either Disrepair or D&M) from first report through to final invoicing to ensure smooth service delivery through effective day to day management. You'll be responsible for people management of a team, so people management experience is a must.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Liaising with the works scheduling team and sub-contractors to ensure accuracy of job information, timely report submissions, suitable allocation of work, and invoicing.
    • Carrying out pre and post inspections to ensure a good standard to work.
    • Assisting the Service Delivery Manager (SDM) in managing the contractors to ensure excellent service delivery, continually looking for process improvements to improve efficiency, costs, and meet agreed targets.
    • Supporting the SDM by providing data, reports and MI (e.g. for quality control and budgetary data).
    • Stakeholder and people management: performance monitoring, attend monthly sub-contractor meetings, liaising with internal and external customers such as legal departments, client representatives, local authorities etc.
    • Managing the day-to-day administration of the team.
    • Attending client/stakeholder panels, consultations, and other meetings.
    • Pro-actively engaging with and acting a point of contact for customers, ensuring all queries and complaints are resolved swiftly.

    Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

    • Trade specific qualification(s) e.g. in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, or a repairs sector common trade.
    • Good IT literacy (including MS Office programmes (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and ability to use relevant job management systems (knowledge of accuserv system would be advantageous)
    • Specialist knowledge/qualifications/qualifying experience of Damp & Mould and/or Legal Disrepair is essential.
    • Prior experience in a Supervisory role (ideally within a responsive repairs/minor works environment).
    • Prior management of specialist sub-contractors would be preferred.
    • Full clean UK driving licence

    Salary

    • Starting from £45,000 (DOE) benefits

    Working arrangement

    • Full Time - 36 hours per week
    • Location - Dagenham
    • Travel - The role will involve travel to sites within and around the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, as such a full clean UK driving licence is required.
  • Electrician
    £39000.00 - £43000.00 per annum

    Exciting opportunities have arisen for Electrician's to work for a contractor based in London on a permanent basis. My client is looking for candidates who have experience completing similar domestic electrical works including testing and inspection. The works completed will be across Hertfordshire. The salary will be between £38,000 - £43,000 - dependent on experience. The location of works will be based on your home address as they have contracts across London and the home counties.

    Electrician duties include:
    * Testing and updates to social housing properties and communal areas
    * Maintenance including changing light fittings, switches, sockets etc.

    The successful Electrician will be supplied with:

    The successful candidate will be available within short notice and have PPM, HVAC experience within Plant/Facilities engineers in a production or related development environment.
