I'm looking for a new 3 x Fire Safety Officer/ FRA Surveyor to join a local authority in East London.

Overall Purpose of Job
* An active technical team member managing all aspects of fire safety across the Council housing assets ensuring services are maintained and improved. To provide an operational fire safety management function for all Council owned and managed housing assets delivering continuous improvement in resident safety.
* Supporting compliance with both statutory and non-statutory fire safety legislation and associated building regulations.
* To carry out fire risk assessments across all of the councils housing stock. Ensuring the FRA programme is delivered on time and to the required standard through the application of a quality assurance programme.
* Ensuring compliance with legislation through the use of performance data, risk assessments and audits of Council owned and managed housing assets.
* To act as a subject matter expert for the council, in relation to fire safety. Support, develop and maintain the Housing Fire Risk Management Policy.
* To act as a resource and liaise with managers and staff at all levels within the Council implementing fire safety standards and initiatives.
* To be the specialist fire safety officer for a specific field of fire safety i.e. sheltered accommodation, temporary housing, vulnerable persons, fire engineering, etc.
* Identify fire safety priorities and assist in the overall prioritisation within the FRA programme.

    MMP is working with one of their Housing Association Clients in East London who are seeking for a new Property Surveyor to join the business with immediate effect. This role will be covering a patch between Waltham Forest, Epping & more local sites.

    This will be a long-term Interim role paying £32 per hour.

    Duties:
    * To carry out pre-inspections, building and stock condition surveys to identify defects and future investment requirements, including the preparation of detailed reports, specifications and cost estimates where necessary to ensure the appropriate remedial works are undertaken.
    * To ensure all planned, cyclical and responsive repair works are valid and appropriate, provide value for money and are completed within the allocated budget provision, ensuring contract administration good practice, timely processing of variations and all appropriate contract documentation and accurate keeping of records pertaining to work in progress.
    * To undertake post inspections of completed works to ensure quality, compliance with the Schedule of Rates, value for money and statutory compliance. Ensuring compliance with contractual term and driving performance to achieve KPI's targets and expenditure within the designated budget provision.
    * To assist the delivery of internal policies, procedures and agreements and look for ways in which to continuously improve the service to achieve value for money and increased resident satisfaction.
    * To follow our clients Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure, as far as is practicable, your own safety and that of others in the workplace. You may be required to undertake specific Health and Safety roles such as Fire Warden or First Aider as part of your duties
    * To co-operate with the duty holder as required by current Asbestos Regulations including complying with the Asbestos Management Plan, reporting incidents, passing on information about the presence of asbestos, attending training, project managing surveys and abatement works. Including undertaking Asbestos management surveys and updating the Asbestos data base as necessary to maintain statutory compliance.

  • FRA Project Manager

    MMP Consultancy is seeking for a new FRA Project Manager on behalf of one our clients to support the Housing Assets Compliance Team in delivering Fire Risk Assessments and its remedial actions with expected outcomes to ensure housing buildings are safe and compliant with the Building Safety Act 2022 and the Fire Safety Act 2021, as part of the Council's strategic objectives.

    Duties:

    * Ensures that fire risk actions are accurately allocated to relevant officers, regularly tracked, updated, maintained and completed within prescribed timescales. Provides regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate.

    * Manages the change control procedure and ensures that agreed project deliverables are completed within planned cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off.

    * Lead on the project delivery, providing the vision and ongoing leadership that ensures they are successful in delivering outcomes and intended benefits.

    * Provide expert advice, interpretation, information, support and coaching to other colleagues within the programme on the full range of operational, legislative and strategic issues within the field of fire safety/fire remedial works/fire compliance.
