Title: Project Manager - Fire Safety
Location: East London
Rate: £425 Per Day

Role Overview:

* Reports to the Fire Safety Manager
* Does have line management responsibility.
* Is responsible for managing the FRA process and ensuring actions are issued, managed, and completed.
* Is responsible for chairing FRA Task Group meetings.
* To ensure the successful delivery of fire safety, FRA actions and to support senior management and management teams in doing the same.
* The post holder will prepare and present KPI reports on the fire safety programme.
* Be comfortable with using a range of software, databases and a strong user of all Microsoft tools.
* Work in partnership with Building Safety Team to develop an appropriate fire safety procedure to comply with legislation and the Council's policies and procedures.
* The post holder will work collaboratively with all teams to deliver positive outcomes and maintain resident safety. Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including fire enforcement bodies, contractors, and partners.
* To help develop policies and procedures to the support the work of the team and department.
* To carry out such other duties within the competence of the post holder which may be reasonably required from time to time.

MMP Consultancy are seeking for a new Health & Safety Manager (NEBOSH/IOSH required) to join one of my client's based in East London (3 Days Office 2 Days WFH)

Title: Health & Safety Manager (NEBOSH/IOSH required)
Location: East London (3 Days per week)
Rate: £61,000 Benefits
Responsible for: 1 x Health & Safety Advisor
2 x Health & Safety Officer

Purpose of Job:

* Oversee and organise a policy, procedure, training, and advice programme which meets St Mungo's legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations in terms of health and safety.
* Oversee and organise a programme of audits, investigations, reviews and monitoring against health and safety standards in both a planned and reactive manner and ensure actions are followed up to completion.
* Lead a Health and Safety team to deliver this programme of work.

Key Responsibilities:

* Monitor changes in legislation and the requirements of regulatory and enforcement agencies in health and safety. Advise the Head of Safety and Quality Assurance and other senior managers as required, of the implications of changes for St Mungo's.
* Both develop and review, and lead the team in developing and reviewing, high quality policies and procedures to timescale. Ensure they all have a comprehensive implementation plan, including promotion, training, e-learning, and monitoring on relevant systems.
* Both provide and ensure the team provide, timely and high quality advice to the wider organisation on health and safety issues which meets all regulatory, legislative, and contractual obligations.
* Design and develop an annual training programme, in consultation with the Head, oversee delivery by the team, and provide training as required.
* Develop and deliver an annual audit plan.
* Both carry out, and lead the team to carry out, robust and timely audits, investigations, reviews and monitoring against health and safety standards in both a planned and reactive manner.
* Ensure any actions arising from audits, investigations, reviews, and monitoring are followed up to completion.
* Facilitate and encourage engagement with relevant health and safety activities across the
* Raise any urgent concerns regarding actual or potential breaches of law or regulation with the Head of Safety and Quality Assurance and other senior managers, as necessary, at the earliest opportunity. If dissatisfied with the timeliness or appropriateness of the response, raise directly with the Director of Governance and Compliance.
* Coordinating with the Head, attend and contribute to regular organisational meetings as required: Health and Safety Steering Group, etc.
* Provide timely, informative, and well written reports to the Head of Safety and Quality Assurance as required.

Fire Risk Assessor

Up to £345.00 per day Inside IR35

MMP Consultancy are currently seeking a Fire Risk Assessor for a local authority based in East London on an interim contract, undertaking Risk Assessments to social housing properties. £345 per day Inside IR35.

Will require an on-site presence between office, site and home.

Key Duties:

* Managing all aspects of fire safety across the housing assets ensuring services are maintained and improved.

* Provide operational fire safety management function for all Council owned and managed housing assets delivering continuous improvement in resident safety.

* Supporting compliance with both statutory and non-statutory fire safety legislation and associated building regulations.

* Carry out fire risk assessments across all of the councils housing stock.

* Ensuring the FRA programme is delivered on time and to the required standard through the application of a quality assurance programme.

* Ensuring compliance with legislation through the use of performance data, risk assessments and audits of Council owned and managed housing assets.

* Act as a subject matter expert for the council, in relation to fire safety.

* Support, develop and maintain the Housing Fire Risk Management Policy.

* Act as a resource and liaise with managers and staff at all levels within the Council implementing fire safety standards and initiatives.

* The specialist fire safety officer for a specific field of fire safety i.e. sheltered accommodation, temporary housing, vulnerable persons, fire engineering, etc.

* Identify fire safety priorities and assist in the overall prioritisation within the FRA programme.

Experience / Qualifications

* Specialist knowledge of fire safety legislation and its applications to housing.
* Fire safety qualification
* A clear understanding of emerging fire safety and building safety legislation.
* A demonstrable understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

list Disrepair Surveyor

Up to £48065.00 per annum Plus Benefits

MMP Consultancy currently has an opportunity for a Disrepair Surveyor to join a housing association based in Wiltshire/Hampshire.

This will be a permanent position paying £48,065.00 P/A Plus Benefits

The Role:

  • The role will cover Wiltshire and Hampshire, so candidates will need to be suitably based for this. They will be used to completing property inspections and that is the crux of this role.
  • The main focus of this role is to complete damp and mould and disrepair surveys, identifying building defects, and completing any further investigations to accurately diagnose and rectify any faults including damp remediation.
  • this will involve specifying works for our DLO as well as managing contractors to ensure all works are completed to a high standard and in good time.
  • They will need to produce high quality condition reports of each property that our solicitors can rely on in court and be willing to appear in court as a witness if required.
  • This role will also involve supporting our team of Response Surveyors by completing comprehensive damp investigations in problematic properties, providing advice and training to other members of the team and handling complaints.
  • An expertise in building pathology and experience in damp investigations will be a big asset in this role as would excellent customer care skills to help us manage these difficult cases.
  • They won't be alone; they'll be working with two other Disrepair Surveyors and between them will complete surveys across the group.
  • We are looking to base this role in Hampshire/Wiltshire, however there may be a requirement to travel further into our operating regions which include, Dorset, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.
  • Strong working knowledge of Disrepair legislation, the Landlord Tenancy act 1985, Homes for Habitation and HHSRS assessments. Skills & Abilities.

Title: Disrepair Surveyor

MMP Consultancy currently has an opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join a housing association based out of Derby.

This role can be offered on an Interim basis for 6-9 Months paying £32 P/H Umbrella

The Role:

  • To provide an enhanced level of technical assistance and expertise within the Maintenance Team to include surveying of properties, preparation of specifications and schedules, as instructed.
  • To carry out and oversee procurement of works in accordance with my clients policies
  • Maintain a scrutiny on works in progress ensuring that work conforms to current regulations and specifications.
  • Provide the appropriate level of support in the supervision, training and management of staff.

Job Purpose:

  • Undertake surveys of properties in relation to responsive and planned maintenance as appropriate. Compile and submit all necessary information/orders within the prescribed time scales.
  • Where appropriate establish programmes of work ensuring that repairs arising are carried out in accordance with priorities and with the minimum of delay and inconvenience to the tenant/leaseholder/owner.
  • Deal with enquiries and complaints made by customers, advise and deal sympathetically with them, ensuring adequate consultation and liaison.
  • Respond to complaints and members enquiries within prescribed time scales and produce reports and place all appropriate orders as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of all surveys and inspections including dates and relevant observations and instructions given at the time and in accordance with recognised procedures.
  • Carry out procurement of works as and when required, oversee other technical staff arranging procurement of work ensuring that in all cases relevant documentation is kept to show procedures have been followed and that transparency and probity of the procedure can be shown.
  • Organise and contribute effectively in the training and motivation of new and existing staff, maintain suitable records concerning progress and ensure that staff managed are aware of current procedures, practices and instructions.
  • Prepare specification, schedules of work and any cost/estimates where required and ensure that all works orders/contracts comply with appropriate legislation, codes of practice, British/European standards the Councils/Clietns Standing Orders and Financial Regulations.
  • Carry out checks on works undertaken by contractors ensuring that work conforms to specifications, quality standards and safe working practices.
  • Supervise and liaise with contractors verify and evaluate any contractual variations prior to final authorisation for payment.
