Job Description

MMP Consultancy currently has an opportunity for a Property Surveyor to join a housing association. This role is FULLY REMOTE Covering an area which includes East London to Brentwood

This position is paying £50,209 Benefits (inc Car Allowance)

Job Purpose:
The role is responsible for leading and managing the delivery of property investment, service & inspection and repairs services to parts of the property portfolio, approx. 20-40 locations. Working with housing/care operations you will ensure timely delivery of services, and ensure all properties are kept in a good condition within property strategy targets. You will ensure compliance with commercial and contract management arrangements, ensuring the contractual obligations are met. Manage project performance and working with the quantity surveying team ensure robust financial forecasting, processing of valuations and contract instructions. To be responsible for identifying cost saving through collaboration with contractor and quantity surveying team. The role will require strong interaction with housing/care operations teams to ensure works run smoothly and meets the needs of the business.

Key Accountabilities:
Freedom to act:
* This is an important role within Property which ensures maintenance of good quality homes through individual ownership of each location.
* The role has latitude within budgetary restrictions and portfolio strategy requirements to prioritise activity and spend to achieve these targets.
* As well as day to day activity, this role will have to respond quickly and effectively to ad hoc requests from the business, which may be complex, urgent, and business critical.
* The role will require effective engagement with colleagues in Housing and Care operations
Nature of impact:
* The role will work with others to effectively deliver repairs, investment and service & inspection activities to individual locations.
* Collaboratively with quantity surveying team, contractors and colleagues.

Key Tasks:
* Delivery of all property activities to a portfolio of properties
* To undertake regular inspections such as Stock Condition surveys, MOT surveys and Asbestos reinspection's
* Working within the management arrangements ensure repairs and planned works are necessary and delivered in the most cost effective manner.
* To analyse performance of properties to recommend future investment, and repair planning for you portfolio.

Key Actives:
* Work collaborative working with contractors and Housing/Care operations colleagues to deliver a high quality property delivery service producing good quality built environments.
* Maintain robust project and delivery management arrangements and controls ensuring properties and investment programmes remain within budget
* Provide an effective pragmatic solution focused building pathology service.
* Undertake Quarterly walk around site visits to all sites, ensuring operational colleagues are in attendance and resulting actions are implemented.

    MMP Consultancy are seeking for a new Health & Safety Manager (NEBOSH/IOSH required) to join one of my client's based in East London (3 Days Office 2 Days WFH)

    Rate: £56,000 Benefits
    Responsible for: 1 x Health & Safety Advisor
    2 x Health & Safety Officer

    Purpose of Job:

    * Oversee and organise a policy, procedure, training, and advice programme which meets our clients legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations in terms of health and safety.
    * Oversee and organise a programme of audits, investigations, reviews and monitoring against health and safety standards in both a planned and reactive manner and ensure actions are followed up to completion.
    * Lead a Health and Safety team to deliver this programme of work.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Monitor changes in legislation and the requirements of regulatory and enforcement agencies in health and safety. Advise the Head of Safety and Quality Assurance and other senior managers as required, of the implications of changes for our client
    * Both develop and review, and lead the team in developing and reviewing, high quality policies and procedures to timescale. Ensure they all have a comprehensive implementation plan, including promotion, training, e-learning, and monitoring on relevant systems.
    * Both provide and ensure the team provide, timely and high quality advice to the wider organisation on health and safety issues which meets all regulatory, legislative, and contractual obligations.
    * Design and develop an annual training programme, in consultation with the Head, oversee delivery by the team, and provide training as required.
    * Develop and deliver an annual audit plan.
    * Both carry out, and lead the team to carry out, robust and timely audits, investigations, reviews and monitoring against health and safety standards in both a planned and reactive manner.
    * Ensure any actions arising from audits, investigations, reviews, and monitoring are followed up to completion.
    * Facilitate and encourage engagement with relevant health and safety activities across the
    * Raise any urgent concerns regarding actual or potential breaches of law or regulation with the Head of Safety and Quality Assurance and other senior managers, as necessary, at the earliest opportunity. If dissatisfied with the timeliness or appropriateness of the response, raise directly with the Director of Governance and Compliance.
    * Coordinating with the Head, attend and contribute to regular organisational meetings as required: Health and Safety Steering Group, etc.
    * Provide timely, informative, and well written reports to the Head of Safety and Quality Assurance as required.
