Role Overview:


As a Senior Bid Writer, you will be at the forefront of our business development efforts, leading the creation of high-quality, compelling, and strategically aligned bid responses. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure our submissions showcase our client as the partner of choice. From managing bid strategies to enhancing content libraries, your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining our industry-leading success rate.

Key Responsibilities:

Developing Winning Submissions:

  • Lead the creation of high-impact bid responses, demonstrating Hill's expertise, achievements, and added value.
  • Ensure responses align with client requirements, presenting persuasive and well-structured narratives.
  • Maintain and enhance bid libraries, including case studies, CVs, and key content for future use.
  • Support the team in preparing for post-tender interviews, ensuring consistency and clarity in messaging.

Quality, Compliance & Strategic Alignment:

  • Collaborate with pre-construction and regional teams to ensure bid responses align with Hill's Health & Safety policies, performance standards, and corporate values.
  • Conduct in-depth research to tailor submissions to client needs, ensuring a competitive edge.
  • Drive continuous improvement in bid quality by refining existing content and integrating best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams, including business development, marketing, and technical teams, to ensure seamless bid coordination.
  • Liaise with the Marketing Coordinator to integrate impactful visuals, enhancing the overall quality of submissions.
  • Act as a key ambassador for our client, ensuring bid responses consistently position us as an industry leader.

Financial Accuracy & Commercial Awareness:

  • Ensure all financial aspects of bids are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with our client business strategy.
  • Provide strategic input on bid pricing narratives, ensuring a strong commercial proposition.

Fostering a Collaborative Bid Culture:

  • Promote a culture of excellence in bid writing, mentoring junior writers and supporting knowledge sharing.
  • Drive engagement with internal stakeholders to streamline bid processes and ensure timely, high-quality submissions.

What Success Looks Like:

  • 90% success rate on SQs, Sifting Briefs, and EOIs.
  • Consistently high quality scores (75% ) on written bid responses.
  • Flawless bid management, ensuring all deadlines are met and submissions are of the highest standard.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Crafting Winning Bid Responses:

    • Continuously improve our response library by refining existing content and adding new, relevant material.
  • Collaborating for Success:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including pre-construction, marketing, and regional teams, to ensure timely and accurate information is included in submissions.
    • Liaise with the Marketing Coordinator to arrange photos for case studies that enhance bid quality.
    • Act as the ambassador for Hill in all bid submissions, promoting our strengths and positioning us as the partner of choice.
  • Managing Financial Information:
    • Ensure that all financial information included in submissions is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with the business plan.
  • Promoting Teamwork:
    • Foster strong collaboration between departments, ensuring that all contributors are aligned and deadlines are met.
    • Be proactive in securing the support of colleagues to gather necessary information for bid responses.


Success Will Look Like:

  • Achieving a minimum 90% success rate on SQs, Sifting Briefs, and EOIs.
  • Receiving quality scores of 75% or higher on all bid submissions.
  • Ensuring every bid is submitted on time, with high-quality content that positions our client as the leading choice.

Role Overview:
Are you an experienced Estimator ready to take on an exciting role in a dynamic and innovative team? Our client is looking for great candidates to join their team! You'll play a critical part in preparing budget estimates, cost control documents, and open market competitive tenders to secure future projects. This role demands a commitment to quality, with adherence to our Quality Management System (ISO9001) and company procedures.
What You'll Do:
Quality & Compliance

  • Prepare tenders and control documents using the Causeway Estimating system.
  • Create budget estimates and cost plans with detailed supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments, and method statements.


Project Delivery

  • Analyse bid documents, drawings, and specifications to produce comprehensive tender submissions.
  • Measure quantities and produce Bills of Quantities.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather accurate quotations.
  • Attend internal and client meetings to ensure successful bid management and project handover.


Financial Management

  • Set up estimate files and coordinate bid strategies.
  • Identify and manage financial, design, and contractual risks/opportunities.

Skills, Experience, and Attributes:

  • BTEC/HNC/NVQ4 or equivalent in a related field.
  • Proven experience in the housing sector within Commercial or Estimating roles.
  • Strong understanding of building regulations, contracts, and the housing development process.
  • Competency in pricing from first principles and using the Causeway estimating package.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Experience managing Assistant or Trainee Estimators.

MMP Consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Disrepair Surveyor to work on an interim contract with a public sector housing organisation in North West London. £320 per day

£320 per day (LTD Inside IR35). Required to travel and attend site and office.

Key Duties

  • Inspection reports: findings, causation, remedials, conclusions, and photos-SORs to be utilized.
  • Drafting of Scott's Schedules.
  • Focus on case management and closure.
  • Strong knowledge of legal disrepair protocols, including the Landlord and Tenant Act (Section 11), Section 9A, and the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act.
  • Post-inspection tracker updates and completion.

Key Duties:

Responsible for providing operational support to managers including monitoring and managing service providers, contractors, consultants and other agencies to facilitate high levels of service delivery to all aspects of the design and delivery of projects. To manage borough wide electrical schemes, works packages and projects to high standards including customer expectations, quality standards, and workmanship. This includes the management, motivation and development of teams and staff within the remit of the post holder.

Essential Experience:

  • Educated in a range of electrical disciplines i.e. City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2, 2391 Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations, 2382 18th Edition BS7671 etc.
  • Knowledge of Housing Fire safety guidance documents which impact on building safety and the various types of Fire Alarm installations required within them and their testing and certification requirements.
  • Knowledge of current housing legislation and social issues impacting on service delivery
  • Knowledge in the planning and delivery of works in large quantities within residents' homes and the challenges this can present in a diverse & multicultural environment.
