Job Description
MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Fire Surveyor to join a Health & Safety Consultant based in East Grinstead.
This will be a permanent position paying £50,000-£55,000 P/A Plus Benefits.
The Role:
- The key roles of this post will include to carry out detailed Type 1,2,3 and 4 Fire Risk Assessments in accordance with nationally recognised guidance to an accepted standard in a timely manner, also to provide reports and highlight any remedial actions that are required after undertaking the Fire Risk Assessments. Fire Door inspections & Compartmentaion Surveys.
Job Purpose:
- To project a positive image of the client by providing an excellent level of customer service.
- The ability to carry out Type 1, 2, 3 and 4 fire risk assessments, compartmentation surveys and fire door inspections. To include liaising with contractors in arranging Type 2 and or 4 inspections.
- Carry out detailed Compartmentation Surveys and where required complete Fire Door Inspections
- Develop Fire Safety Action Plans and Fire Emergency Plans if requested.
- You will work closely with our other Fire Safety Consultants and the board of directors to deliver risk assessments in line with our service level agreements, also attend service and client meetings when necessary, and be aware of legislative changes and ensure compliance with fire safety requirements.
- Inspect and survey Fire Doors in a competent manner.
- Provide a full report and recommendations following the inspection.
- Identify that the frame specification is correct for the door's rating.
- Understand the regulations relating to the gap allowance between door and frame
- You must hold an FDIS or BRE door inspector qualification.

Job Purpose:

- Undertake domestic and commercial building surveys to provide advice on matters such as construction defects, disrepair and dilapidations.
- Produce detailed reports concerning findings including options for remedial solutions with cost estimates and proposals regarding safe methods of work.
- Provide advice to colleagues regarding legislative matters such Planning and Building Regulations approval etc.
- Keeping abreast of industry law and best practice and how to apply them to our operations.

Key Duties:
* Hit weekly and monthly targets regarding equity loan &/or staircasing completions.
* Handle customer inquiries (by telephone, email, post) in a professional and supportive manner, displaying product knowledge.
* Read and interpret leases/equity mortgages and give effective advice to customers and other key internal and external stakeholders regarding all Staircasing/Equity Loans activities.
* Log all customer contacts, maintaining accurate records using the appropriate database and case management systems.
* Collate audit compliant application packs, carry out relevant checks on shared owners if cash sums are to be used, and follow anti-money laundering procedures.

The role is interim, taking over for a member of staff who is leaving, with a potential option of permanent.

The works cover planned maintenance which encompasses such aspects as replacement
