Job Description

MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Housing Fire Safety Manager to join a local authority based out of Hampshire.

This will be a permanent position paying £57,214 P/A rising to £59,234 P/A with excellent performance.

The Role:

  • To lead and manage the Council's response to fire safety in the Council's Housing stock, including devising strategies, policies and assurance processes to ensure compliance with all statutory fire safety laws/regulations/codes of practice and guidance.
  • To lead and manage the Council's housing fire risk assessment programme.
  • To lead and manage the delivery of all programmes of work and actions arising from fire risk assessments, ensuring they are undertaken within appropriate timescales.
  • To work closely with the Executive Head of Governance and Housing, EMT and Housing Service Managers on all aspects of fire safety and related works.

Job Purpose:

  • To lead and manage the Council's response to fire safety in the Council housing stock.

  • To lead, manage, plan and deliver the Council's programme of fire risk assessments across all Council housing stock.

  • To lead and manage the implementation of all work programmes and actions arising out of fire risk assessments including tendering projects, ensuing that fire safety work is undertaken to the required standard.

  • To work directly with external Fire Safety experts in the implementation of fire safety works and best practice.

  • To lead, manage and be responsible for formal project control processes ensuring these are updated regularly and acted upon.

  • To manage the Fire Safety Project Officer and Building Safety Officers to ensure effective delivery of work programmes in response to fire safety actions and other building remedial actions to ensure that council housing stock is safe.

  • To monitor all fire safety project activity, including against budgets and delivery of targets in accordance with agreed timescales.

  • To manage and lead on fire risk management strategies and policies for the Council's Housing Service in line with fire safety legislation/regulations/ codes of practice/ guidance.

  • To work closely with Executive Head, EMT and Housing Service Managers on all aspects of fire and building safety.

  • To appoint, lead and manage staff.

  • To be responsible for implementing new fire safety legislation and best practice, liaising closely with the Executive Heads, EMT and Housing Services and recommend appropriate courses of action. .

  • Regularly advise senior management and the Council's Executive Management Team (EMT) of performance relating to fire safety against best practice and legal standards.

  • Produce clear, concise and regular reports for senior management and the Council's Executive Management Team on fire safety compliance.

  • Apply sound professional judgement to ensure that risks are escalated to the Executive Head/EMT and to devise appropriate robust and tested mitigation plans and strategies to deal with risk.

  • Be responsible for embedding a positive fire safety culture through close liaison with all Housing Service Managers, the Executive Head and EMT and arrange a regular programme of fire safety training across Housing Services.

  • Liaise with enforcing authorities where necessary, taking responsibility for recording and managing fire incidences and implementing any post-incident actions.

  • Represent my client at fire safety sector forums, building professional relationships with key external stakeholders, including Hampshire & IOW Fire Service, Health and Safety Executive and the Social Housing Regulator.

Qualifications:

You need to hold either of the following qualifications:

  • Member of the Institute of Fire safety Managers (MIFSM)
  • Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers (MIFireE)
  • Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety.

      2. Undertake domestic and commercial building surveys to provide advice on matters such as construction defects, disrepair and dilapidations.
      3. Produce detailed reports concerning findings including options for remedial solutions with cost estimates and proposals regarding safe methods of work.
      4. Provide advice to colleagues regarding legislative matters such Planning and Building Regulations approval etc.
      5. Keeping abreast of industry law and best practice and how to apply them to our operations.

    MMP Consultancy are currently seeking an Aftersales Consultant for an interim contract with a Central London based housing association.

    The role is interim. With a potential option of permanent.

    Details:

    Key Duties:

    * Hit weekly and monthly targets regarding equity loan &/or staircasing completions.
    * Handle customer inquiries (by telephone, email, post) in a professional and supportive manner, displaying product knowledge.
    * Read and interpret leases/equity mortgages and give effective advice to customers and other key internal and external stakeholders regarding all Staircasing/Equity Loans activities.
    * Log all customer contacts, maintaining accurate records using the appropriate database and case management systems.
    * Collate audit compliant application packs, carry out relevant checks on shared owners if cash sums are to be used, and follow anti-money laundering procedures.

    MMP Consultancy seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor for an interim contract with a North London-based National Contractor for Housing Asset Management / Maintenance. Day Rate Negotiable (Inside IR35)

    The role is interim, taking over for a member of staff who is leaving, with a potential option of permanent.

    The works cover planned maintenance which encompasses such aspects as replacement
