Job Description

MMP Consultancy are looking to recruit a Housing Officer to join a Local Authority based in South West London.

As a Housing Officer you will require to provide an excellent customer focused service for all tenants ensuring that the housing schemes and properties are well managed, and the environment is well maintained. Working proactively and closely with tenants to address environmental, property and tenancy issues ensuring tenancies are sustained.

Duties:

  • Manage a designated patch of properties, ensuring effective service delivery.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Support vulnerable individuals, offering guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines and manage a varied caseload.
  • Adhere to and implement housing policies and procedures.


Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in the housing sector, preferably with a local authority or registered social landlord.
  • Strong customer service skills with a commitment to delivering high standards.
  • Experience in supporting vulnerable clients, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Familiarity with housing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and best practices.

About the Role
We are working with a medium-sized housing association based in London to recruit a Compliance Officer specialising in fire safety. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong data management and contract administration skills to support the organisation's fire safety compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing compliance with fire safety regulations, including Active Fire Safety, AOV systems, Alarm Systems, Emergency Lighting, and Evacuation Systems.
  • Oversee the administration and coordination of fire safety contracts, ensuring all contractor obligations are met.
  • Maintain and update compliance databases, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Upload fire safety certificates and other essential documents into the database.
  • Book orders and schedule appointments with contractors and residents.
  • Communicate with contractors and residents to resolve access issues and ensure timely completion of fire safety work.
  • Support the Compliance Team in monitoring contractor performance and compliance with service level agreements.
  • Support ongoing compliance projects and contribute to improving fire safety procedures.
  • Use Microsoft Dynamic 365 for data management and administrative tasks.


What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience in compliance or contract administration, preferably within a social housing environment.
  • Strong data management skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with fire safety compliance processes (desirable but not essential to be technically qualified).
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills to coordinate with contractors and residents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamic 365 is a plus.

As a Community Liaison Manager, you will be the primary point of contact between the organisation and the local communities where the new developments are situated. Main Responsibilities:

MMP Consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Repairs Surveyor to work an interim contract with a public sector housing organisation in Northwest London. £40 per hour (Inside IR35).

Title: Repairs Surveyor
Rate: £40 per hour (Inside IR35) (Neg. for experienced candidates)
Location: Northwest London
Expenses: Business-related parking and mileage is paid.
Contract: Rolling Interim - 39 hours per week.

Key Duties:

  • Carry out surveys to properties, including diagnosing the cause of complex faults and failures and post inspect works.
  • Prepare detailed specifications, and oversee contractors' delivery of works, managing quality, value and progress, all in line with contract terms.
  • Carry out Damp Mould and Condensation (DMC) inspections and provide solutions that align with ombudsman recommendations (AWAABs Law)
  • Ensure that contractors deliver an excellent service and that customers are effectively consulted with and kept informed.
  • Ensure that services are provided in a way that keeps customers, colleagues and third parties safe, and complies with health and safety legislation and H&S policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate recording and updating of systems to ensure property information is up to date.
  • Provide weekly updates outlining the status of work in progress and preparations for future works.

Essential Experience:

  • Excellent level of knowledge of building construction standards, and legislation, and an ability to diagnose and specify remedies to building defects.
  • Experience of undertaking assessments in line with the Housing Health & Safety Rating System.
  • Understanding of responsive repairs, voids works, planned and cyclical repairs requirements.
  • Ability to be proactive and work on own initiative, with limited supervision,
  • Experience of managing contractors.
  • Excellent standards of customer care and the ability to deliver accurate and clear communications in writing, face to face or by telephone.
