About the Role
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the clients approach to building safety and compliance within the context of a larger property and asset management portfolio. You will provide leadership across property compliance, fire safety, engineering services and the effective maintenance of council-owned buildings.
Your remit extends beyond compliance: you will drive strategic planning, governance, and financial oversight while ensuring that our buildings meet statutory and non-statutory safety regulations. You will oversee key legislation such as the Building Safety Act 2021 and the Fire Safety Act while ensuring our broader asset strategy aligns with long-term housing, environmental, and community objectives.
Collaboration is key: you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, senior leaders, and resident groups, ensuring transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in building safety and compliance.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a highly experienced leader in Property Services with a proven track record of strategic leadership in asset management, housing maintenance, and compliance. While technical qualifications such as RICS or RIBA membership are beneficial, we are prioritising senior-level experience and leadership in property services over specific professional accreditations.
Key requirements:
* Extensive experience at Director or Assistant Director level within property services, housing, or asset management.
* Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary teams in politically sensitive environments.
* Experience in strategic planning, financial management, and governance in the context of property services.

list Disrepair Surveyor

Up to £320 per hour Inside IR35

MMP Consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Disrepair Surveyor to work on an interim contract with a public sector housing organisation in North West London. £320 per day

£320 per day (LTD Inside IR35). Required to travel and attend site and office.

Key Duties

  • Inspection reports: findings, causation, remedials, conclusions, and photos-SORs to be utilized.
  • Drafting of Scott's Schedules.
  • Focus on case management and closure.
  • Strong knowledge of legal disrepair protocols, including the Landlord and Tenant Act (Section 11), Section 9A, and the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act.
  • Post-inspection tracker updates and completion.
  • Responses to MP inquiries, Councillor complaints, and Ombudsman cases.

Experience / Qualifications

  • HNC, HND, BTEC HND or higher, in a building discipline, or over 5 years of hands-on experience in related repairs surveying/ construction from a trade background.
  • Experience managing legal disrepair cases.
  • Good understanding of damp and structural issues.

Up to £40 per hour Inside IR35

MMP Consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Repairs Surveyor to work an interim contract with a public sector housing organisation in Northwest London. £40 per hour (Inside IR35).

Title: Repairs Surveyor
Rate: £40 per hour (Inside IR35) (Neg. for experienced candidates)
Location: Northwest London
Expenses: Business-related parking and mileage is paid.
Contract: Rolling Interim - 39 hours per week.

Key Duties:

  • Carry out surveys to properties, including diagnosing the cause of complex faults and failures and post inspect works.
  • Prepare detailed specifications, and oversee contractors' delivery of works, managing quality, value and progress, all in line with contract terms.
  • Carry out Damp Mould and Condensation (DMC) inspections and provide solutions that align with ombudsman recommendations (AWAABs Law)
  • Ensure that contractors deliver an excellent service and that customers are effectively consulted with and kept informed.
  • Ensure that services are provided in a way that keeps customers, colleagues and third parties safe, and complies with health and safety legislation and H&S policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate recording and updating of systems to ensure property information is up to date.
  • Provide weekly updates outlining the status of work in progress and preparations for future works.

Essential Experience:

  • Excellent level of knowledge of building construction standards, and legislation, and an ability to diagnose and specify remedies to building defects.
  • Experience of undertaking assessments in line with the Housing Health & Safety Rating System.
  • Understanding of responsive repairs, voids works, planned and cyclical repairs requirements.
  • Ability to be proactive and work on own initiative, with limited supervision,
  • Experience of managing contractors.
  • Excellent standards of customer care and the ability to deliver accurate and clear communications in writing, face to face or by telephone.
  • Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft

MMP Consultancy are working closely with a mid-sized housing association. Our client is recruiting for surveyors who can work within London. My client will try to give you a patch as close to home as possible.

Building Surveyor

Up to £300 per day Umbrella

MMP Consultancy are currently seeking a Building Surveyor for an interim contract with a housing association based in Brixton. My client is paying £300p/d Umbrella.

Must be able to attend site every day, one scheme in the Brixton area.

Key Duties:

  • Overseeing any works being completed on a scheme.
  • Repairs and maintenance service, including Damp and mould.
  • Management of Planned Maintenance Project including kitchens, bathrooms and roof projects.
  • Carry out the full range of building surveying tasks associated with the identification, specification, and implementation of building and associated works to residential properties.
  • Carry out post inspections to ensure quality of work.
  • Manage dedicated contractors' performance.
  • Liaise with tenants accordingly, ensuring effective service.

Experience Required

  • Experienced in all aspects of buildings repair and maintenance.
  • Will need good knowledge and experience in using asset management systems
  • Very organised and good communication skills with both other staff, contractors, and residents.
