MMP Consultancy currently has an opportunity for a Surveying Manager to join a local authority based in Central London
This will be an Interim position 6-9 months paying £300 P/Day Umbrella.
The Role:
- To support the Senior Client Programme Manager in defining both the 5 year investment programme and individual project(s) scope. The role will be responsible for managing a team of surveyors who lead the briefing process for all new projects that will be delivered via Term Partnering Contracts (TPC). The TPC is a relatively new delivery model for my client, moving away from individually-procured projects to a situation whereby each Partnering Contractor will be responsible for designing and managing delivery of circa £20million per annum of major works refurbishment projects.
Job Purpose:
- Assist the Senior Client Programme Manager in the development of an informed capital investment programme on the basis of 1, 3, 5, and 30 year cycles;
- Management of external consultants to ensure that the needs of the brief have been interpreted and the consultants understand what is expected of them. Ability to answer detailed technical queries that may arise;
- To ensure efficient and timely handover of projects from Asset Strategy to the Capital Programme and Repairs & Maintenance teams for delivery under the term partnering contracts. In short, the Client Surveying Team will manage projects through RIBA Stages 0 (Strategic Definition) and 1-2 (Preparation & Brief). The role will also monitor and review 'lessons learnt' from completed projects;
- Utilising the Client Surveying team project tracker to ensure that the Team meets its targets for the timely and efficient handover of client briefs.
- Constantly review the council's Asset Information, collecting data from all available sources and particularly using communication and engagement with stakeholders for this purpose;
- Act as a technical specialist in surveying and to manage the expertise across the stock for the Team;
- Work with the Senior Client Programme Manager (and others) to develop polices / standards / standard specifications supporting the current asset strategy;
- Work towards the development of capital programme works for the area on the basis of 1, 3, 5, and 30 year cycles. Work with the Client Surveyors and Asset Programme Analyst to monitor and develop the Citywide major works Programme;

MMP Consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Repairs Surveyor to work an interim contract with a public sector housing organisation in Northwest London. £40 per hour (Inside IR35).

Essential Experience:
- Excellent level of knowledge of building construction standards, and legislation, and an ability to diagnose and specify remedies to building defects.
- Experience of undertaking assessments in line with the Housing Health & Safety Rating System.
- Understanding of responsive repairs, voids works, planned and cyclical repairs requirements.
- Ability to be proactive and work on own initiative, with limited supervision,
- Experience of managing contractors.
- Excellent standards of customer care and the ability to deliver accurate and clear communications in writing, face to face or by telephone.
- Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft

MMP Consultancy are seeking a Building Surveyor for a North London social housing organisation on an interim to permanent contract.
About the role
Title: Building Surveyor
Rate: £40 per hour (Inside IR35)
Client: North London Social Housing
Location: North West London Office / North London
Expenses: Business-related parking and mileage are paid.
Contract: Rolling Contract (Covering Permanent)
Vehicle: Requires Use of a Vehicle with Full UK licence
Hours: 37.5 hours
Key Duties:
* Excellent knowledge of all aspects of repairs and maintenance services in housing, to include building regulations, legislation, health & safety, best practice, and Schedule of rate codes (SOR).
* HHSRS and General damp, structural and building diagnostic knowledge (minimum 5 years).
Damp works will be in scope with planned programme as separate Repairs team is looking after generic damp and mould queries and applications.
* Carry out inspections on their own to diagnose findings.
* Carry our daily re-booked inspections, report back, raise orders and issues work via own DLO or supply cains to suit findings.
* Manage the delivery of Planned repair works - identifying repairs, faults and issues , scoping and raising specifications, technical advice, monitoring progress on and off-site, raising orders and approving/rejecting variations on SOR codes, undertaking pre, mid and post-inspections, managing work in progress (WIP), expenditure and key performance indicators (KPIs) within agreed parameters.
* Prepare and provide specifications for quotations on works that sit outside of the current schedule of rate codes (SOR).
* Manage a team of sub-contractors and operatives, overseeing their performance, inspecting their work, and providing accurate technical advice to resolve day-to-day issues.

Building Surveyor
MMP Consultancy are currently seeking a Building Surveyor for an interim contract with a housing association based in Brixton. My client is paying £300p/d Umbrella.
Must be able to attend site every day, one scheme in the Brixton area.
Key Duties:
- Overseeing any works being completed on a scheme.
- Repairs and maintenance service, including Damp and mould.
- Management of Planned Maintenance Project including kitchens, bathrooms and roof projects.
