Location: Guildford
Salary: £22,500 to £26,500 per annum

MMP has an exciting opportunity has emerged for a Groundsperson to join a prominent institution, contributing as part of an award-winning team responsible for horticultural maintenance and landscaping of the institution's estate.
Dedicated to delivering a high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective service, the role significantly contributes to enhancing the student and staff experience. This is achieved by maintaining an attractive, safe, and welcoming landscaped estate conducive to work, study, and living.

Key Responsibilities:
This role encompasses a broad spectrum of horticultural and estate management tasks. Following relevant training, you will be responsible for operating various landscaping equipment and machinery, ensuring high-quality and cost-effective maintenance of the institution's estate.

Other responsibilities include:

  • General horticultural maintenance operations in the Grounds and associated areas throughout the institution's estate, including litter picking and clearing of snow or ice.
  • Routine driving, operation, and maintenance of horticultural and other Grounds maintenance machinery, including those hired by the institution, and basic tractor-powered equipment, excluding larger equipment powered by a tractor.
  • Assisting with the preparation of soil and areas associated with the establishment of hard and soft landscaping around new buildings, including the installation or provision of new sports facilities.
  • Ensuring work is carried out in strict compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH, and any other relevant legislation covering safety in the workplace.
  • Experience in horticulture, sports grounds maintenance, and relevant NVQ or equivalent qualifications are advantageous but not essential. Full training will be provided. Candidates need to be physically fit and hold a valid UK driving licence for this role.

    MMP Consultancy currently have an opportunity for a Fire Project Surveyor to join a housing association. My client are based in Walton on Thames, Surrey and can offer flexible working.

    A little bit about what we are looking for:
    We are seeking a dedicated individual to assist the Senior Fire Improvement Works (FIW) Project Manager in overseeing the delivery of both active and passive fire improvement works, as identified through Fire Risk Assessments across all my clients properties. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with statutory duties, regulations, and policies.

    Your responsibilities

    • Customer Service Excellence: Represent my client by delivering exceptional customer service, managing complaints, and ensuring a positive experience for all residents within the relevant service areas.
    • Collaborative Working: Partner effectively with the Building Services, Health and Safety, and Housing teams to address issues that arise during project delivery.
    • Inspection and Specification: Assist in the inspection of my clients properties to scope and specify fire improvement works in alignment with block fire risk assessments, Fire Safety Standards, and framework contracts.
    • Project Monitoring: Continuously monitor and inspect fire improvement works, ensuring they meet the specified standards, use certified materials, and are completed to a high quality.
    • Health and Safety Compliance: Conduct Health and Safety checks during site inspections to ensure that both statutory and my clients requirements are upheld by contractor operatives and work practices.
    • Fire Remediation Support: Provide support to the Fire Remediation Team in inspecting and coordinating fire remediation projects when required.
    • Post-Work Inspections: Carry out post-work inspections to facilitate the handover of completed projects for monthly valuations.
    • Financial Management: Review and authorise work variations within your delegated authority, or escalate them to the Senior FIW Project Manager. Maintain meticulous records of all variations on the Keystone Planned Maintenance module, ensuring value for money through effective financial control.

    A great opportunity has arisen for a Multi Trade Carpenter to join a social housing contractor on a temporary ongoing basis paying £20.00 per hour CIS or Umbrella. The successful Multi Trade Carpenter will be available within short notice, have social housing experience and must have a driving license as you will be supplied with a van and fuel card.

    Working hours Mon - Fri 8am - 17:00pm with a half hour break

    Multi Trade Carpenter Duties:

    • Carry out carry out a range of repairs and maintenance within social housing properties including carpentry, plumbing painting and decorating and patch plastering in both voids and occupied properties.

    The Successful Multi Trade Carpenter will be required to:

    • Ensure works are completed at a high standard within given time frames
