Job Description
MMP Consultancy are looking to recruit a Sheltered Housing Manager to join a Local Authority based in West London.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure through effective day to day management that the team delivers and continually improves a comprehensive enhanced housing management service to help residents maintain their tenancy and ensure they are able to access and receive a range of housing and support services.
- Build an effective team through leadership and personal example so that team members are fully engaged and delivering an excellent service.
- Ensure there is systematic monitoring and inspection of sheltered housing schemes to provide secure, clean and well maintained communal areas and services.
- Ensure that vacant properties are passed to and received back from repairs and let within required timescales and that there is efficient, prompt and appropriate resettlement of new customers to reduce the loss of revenue and improve satisfaction for new tenants in terms of access to local services, health & safety checks and knowledge of the schemes facilities.
- Ensure revenue loss is minimised through the team's effective management of rent arrears and the maximisation of resident's access to financial assistance by promoting and facilitating a wide range of financial inclusion.
- Ensure there is effective reporting and monitoring of household repairs for residents less able to do so and that the handy person scheme is effectively utilised to provide a more accessible and tailored service.
- Ensure that there is the consistent facilitation and promotion of social activities within the schemes and co-ordination of the use of communal lounges and guest rooms to enhance the quality of life for residents.
- Develop and ensure adherence to the service level agreement, systems, administration, policies and procedures relating to health, safety and welfare of residents and the management of schemes and services.
- Implement scheme based and co-ordinated resident involvement so that residents can contribute to the development of strategies, policies and plans and resident satisfaction is continuously improved.
- Attend and service quarterly sheltered housing forums.
Skills Required:
- Significant experience of managing a team of Specialist Housing Officers, working with vulnerable customers.
- Experience of working within a performance management framework and reporting on KPIs and outcomes.
- Track record of success working in a customer facing service and dealing sensitively and effectively with customer issues, specifically with older and vulnerable customers.
- Experience of dealing with safeguarding issues and managing robust systems to ensure alerts are dealt with efficiently and sensitively.
- An understanding and knowledge of housing and other relevant legislation and regulatory framework within housing.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and procedures, and an understanding of its practical application in the workplace and in relation to a customer centre and Scheme locations.

Key Responsibilities

What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience in compliance or contract administration, preferably within a social housing environment.
- Strong data management skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working with fire safety compliance processes (desirable but not essential to be technically qualified).
- Excellent organisational and communication skills to coordinate with contractors and residents.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamic 365 is a plus.
Technical Officer
MMP Consultancy are looking to recruit a Technical Officer on a Temporary basis for a Local Authority based in West London.
Umbrella Rate: £27.70 Per Hour
Duties:
- Provide support for all administration matters related to relevant service area and undertake general and specific administrative duties aligned to the service area and any other duties which could reasonably fall within the role.
- Take responsibility for and technically support a large and varied workload within Capital Delivery Team.
- Respond personally to requests for technical advice relating to capital delivery projects and ensuring all necessary statutory provisions are correctly and competently executed and cases are brought to a satisfactory and timely conclusion.
- Provide assistance to and cover for colleagues as required.
- Provide technical support that ensures compliance within the defined specifications, across the capital delivery work programme.
- Use of other IT systems including where required scanning and photocopying of documents.
- Electronic and manual filing and document management in respect of the service area to ensure records maintained in accordance with statutory guidance.
- Assist with the Estate Housing response to emergency incidents.
- Through consultation with line manager and in accordance with the Constitution and operational protocols, in connection with businesses undertakings and other activities falling within scope of authorisation, determine need for, sign, serve, monitor, and enforce notices (i.e., Party Wall Notices) as appropriate.
- Provide advice and education to the public, peers, and business community in connection with health matters.
- Provide technical support during the scoping, installation, commissioning, and handover phases to ensure the client requirements are fully met.
- Provide technical support for effective problem solving and troubleshooting complex problems.
- To contribute to the performance of the sectors service functions actively and effectively and to the achievement of Business plan, Service Plan, individual appraisal, and other specified targets.

Multi Trade Operative
MMP is currently recruiting for a Multi Trade Operative to join a Social Housing contractor based in London on a temporary basis paying £20 per hour CIS.
The successful Trades Operative will be required too:
- Complete repairs and maintenance within occupied and void properties as well as associated works
- Be customer focused
- Work towards tight deadlines
- Have social housing experience
Pay Rate:
- £20.00ph (CIS or umbrella rate)
Hours:
- 42.5 hours per week (Mon to Fri) 8am - 17:00pm with an half hour break
Qualifications Required:
- Recognised trade qualification i.e. City and Guilds/ NVQ (certificate must be available to provide)
