Job Overview

MMP Consultancy are currently seeking a Head of Repairs and Planned Maintenance on a permanent contract for a social housing organisation based in Central London. Salary banding: £65,000 – £70,000 per annum. 

Key Duties

•The Head of Repairs & Planned Maintenance is responsible for leading the operational delivery of the reactive repairs, voids and planned investment service, engaging with residents, contractors and key stakeholders. Our vision is to deliver a customer focused service.

•Management of a Direct Reports team of 8 and an indirect team of circa. 50

•Budget management in excess of £4 million

Principle outputs & responsibilities

•Responsible for leading the operational delivery of the responsive repairs, voids and planned investment service. 

•Utilising our multi-disciplinary teams and contractors to deliver a customer focused service, which meets or exceeds our service offers, is delivered within budget and evidences a value for money approach.

•Compliant with all statutory and health and safety regulations in respect of directly employed operatives and maintenance contractors;

•Effectively lead, manage and develop the teams to meet agreed service levels.

•Lead and manage the service ensuring team members take ownership for tasks, working across internal departments to agree service standards, processes and solutions to resolve customer enquiries efficiently.

•Lead, manage and provide effective reporting of KPIs and MI’s to effectively monitor the breadth of services.  When required, develop and manage service improvement plans.

•Working with Asset Management and finance colleagues, develop 5 and 10 year planned investment programmes and provide information/data for inclusion in long term business planning. 

•Develop a good working relationship with key customers and stakeholders, to ensure the service is co-created and customer service standards continue to develop. Attend resident meetings to review the service, take action to respond to feedback and prepare/amend service delivery plans. 

•Work closely with the customer service centre to develop effective ‘triaging’ of repairs to support right first time; digital communication channels and key objectives contained within the Customer Service Strategy.

•Lead and manage the procurement of key contracts ensuring adherence with the Procurement Policy.

•Ensure key systems, such as an in-house system for Repair Management, Keystone (strategic asset management platform), CRM and Compleat (finance P2P system) are utilised to support service delivery, data/information and events are recorded accurately to evidence service delivery and regular audits are undertaken to ensure compliance.    

Professional Memberships / Qualifications

•CIOB, RICS, Bsc. or equivalent qualification and experience
