Job Overview

MMP Consultancy are looking to recruit a Housing Officer tojoin a public-sector organisation on a temporary contract.

 

The Housing Officer will be responsible for providinga comprehensive, tailored and resident-focused housing management and servicewithin a designated neighbourhood to current tenants, former tenants, leaseholdersand other residents within our estates. This will include highly effective casemanagement and enforcement of tenancy conditions and lease conditions.

 

Responsibilities:

The Housing Officer will provide an effective HousingManagement service to tenants, leaseholders and residents in design,implementation and running of estate management services to meet individual andneighbourhood requirements

Act as first point of contact for tenants, leaseholders,residents and other customers by providing assistance as required.

Liaising with solicitors and dealing with leaseholdmanagement and property sale issues, using own initiative and seeking advicefrom the Senior Housing Officer and or the Manager when required.

Carrying out a program of scheduled visits to tenants andleaseholders’ in response to service requests, to ensure that they aresatisfied with the service and understand the terms of their tenancy and lease

Assist in the preparation of legal cases and First-TierTribunal (Property Chamber) (FTT) bundle documentation where legal action isnecessary, and support management in representation of the organisation in Court/atthe FTT where required.

Conduct regular tenancy audits using businessintelligence and working with contact where information sharing protocols arein place to protect public assets.

Manage thetenancies and lease as per the agreements and any breaches are addressed inline with policy and procedures.

Processapplications for succession, assignment, notice of assignments and any othertenancy and leasehold related matter within target dates

Oversee the management of the leasehold stock withintheir area, including consultation and communication with all external andinternal customers. This includes sharedownership, stair casing applications, deed of postponement, re-sale processesand any newly acquired stock as appropriate.

 

Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience of workingas a Housing Officer or Neighbourhood Officer

HND/HNC/CIH Qualification orequivalent practical knowledge and experience of housing management

Good understanding of socialhousing sector

Up to date knowledge andcomprehensive understanding of legislation relevant to the social housing sectorincluding leasehold management and current issues faced within the housingsector
