Managing Consultant – Estates & Facilities

Jonny started working in recruitment in 2012 at age 16 after finishing his GCSEs in administration. The buzz of the recruitment environment encouraged Jonny to push for more, eventually moving to a Resourcer and then a 360 Recruitment Consultant position, sourcing healthcare candidates for his NHS clients.

Jonny joined MMP Consultancy in 2019 as part of the NHS/Education team. In 2021, he took responsibility as Managing Consultant of the Estates & Facilities department, where he and his team source candidates at all seniorities for MMP’s education and healthcare clients across England. Now with over 10 years of working in a recruitment environment, his passion for professionalism and drive for success is pushing Jonny to grow the Estates & Facilities team to deliver more high-quality recruitment campaigns for MMP’s public sector clients.

Senior Project Surveyor

Up to £51571.00 per annum

MMP Consultancy is seeking a Senior Project Surveyor to join an Asset Investment team in Northamptonshire. This role will be key in delivering high-quality surveying services, managing building surveys, and overseeing asset and capital projects across the client's housing stock.

This is a permanent role to start as soon as possible with a salary of £51,571 per annum. Other benefits include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage property surveys (dilapidations, disrepair, mutual exchanges, etc.), producing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Manage and monitor asset and regeneration projects, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality standards.
  • Oversee building defect diagnosis and work closely with contractors to resolve issues.

Asset Manager

Up to £56250.00 per annum

MMP Consultancy is seeking a dedicated and motivated Asset Investment Manager to lead a team in delivering an annual residential asset investment programme worth £25million in Northamptonshire.

The position is to start as soon as possible on a permanent basis at £56,250 per annum. This role will include estate regeneration, component replacement, major works, and special projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team to ensure the successful delivery of asset investment projects, putting customers first at all times.
  • Oversee contract management, performance, and budget control.
  • Work closely with the Asset Strategy Team to align investment activities with wider organisational goals.

Sustainability Manager (ISO 14001)

£200 - £300 per day

MMP Consultancy is seeking an experienced Sustainability Manager to lead and implement a private hospital's environmental sustainability strategy. This will be on a temporary interim basis until at least May 2025, to start as soon as possible.

The rate of pay will be dependent on the candidate's level of experience.

This includes overseeing energy & water management, waste reduction, sustainable travel, and compliance with environmental legislation. The key focus of this role will be to help see the hospital through their upcoming ISO 14001 recert audit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead sustainability initiatives, including energy and waste management, carbon reduction, and sustainable design.

Stock Condition Surveyor (Outside IR35 - Pay Per Survey)

£20 - £50 per hour

MMP Consultancy is seeking 3 x Stock Condition Surveyors to join a Contractor on behalf of a Local Authority. They will be responsible for conducting domestic property HHSRS Inspections across Derbyshire and Leicestershire. Candidates will need access to their own vehicle to commute to properties.

This exciting opportunity offers contract work outside IR35 on a Pay Per Surveyor basis. No entry fees will not be payable. The contractor can expect to be paid £20 for surveys on Flats, £30 for surveys on Houses and an extra £20 will be payable for finding Damp and Mould incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct domestic property surveys, including stock condition surveys, and assessments for damp and mould, across residential properties.
  • Provide detailed and accurate reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Generate clear price estimates for each survey based on the property type.
  • Complete surveys and reports within agreed timeframes, maintaining a high standard of accuracy.

MMP Consultancy is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join an Investment Planning & Commercial team on a permanent basis on behalf of a Local Authority based in Hampshire. The salary for this role is £53,453 per annum and can be worked on a hybrid basis.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the commercial activity across the planned investment programmes in the Southeast, South Central, and South West regions, with some travel required.

As a key member of the team, you will monitor expenditure, manage cash flow forecasts, prepare financial statements, calculate monthly payments and accruals, and oversee interim and final accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and good practice.

Your role will also involve maintaining excellent customer service by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including delivery partners, suppliers, and consultants.

Building Surveyor

£20 - £30 per hour

MMP Consultancy is looking for a Building Surveyor (or Graduate Building Surveyor) to join a Local Authority in Gloucestershire. This is a 3-month temporary position working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday with flexible working. The rate of pay will be determined by the candidates' relevant experience.

The successful candidate will support a variety of commercial buildings within the Council's Property Stock, managing maintenance projects, undertaking property surveys, and assisting in the delivery of high-quality planned and reactive maintenance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure building work complies with regulations, policies, and health & safety standards
  • Manage multiple maintenance projects and ensure completion of the annual maintenance plan
  • Procure contractors in line with Local Government regulations and oversee costs and standards
  • Build strong relationships with tenants, service managers, and stakeholders

Building Surveyor

Up to £29 per hour


MMP Consultancy is seeking a Building Surveyor to join a local authority in the South Hampshire area. This is a temporary position paying £29ph umbrella over a 37-hour working week.

As a Building Surveyor, you will work within a team supporting the Building Repairs Managers, ensuring that building repairs and voids services are delivered in line with our NEC3 term service contract. This includes managing contractor payments and audits, conducting surveys, and overseeing a wide range of planned repair projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Survey and assess the condition of a diverse range of assets, including corporate, operational, commercial, and community properties.
  • Manage repair projects, including decoration, cladding, fire upgrades, window replacements, roofing, electrical work, extensions, and structural repairs (typically up to £15,000 per project).
  • Work collaboratively within the team to support the delivery of the repairs service and mentor apprentices and junior surveyors.
  • Liaise with a variety of stakeholders including residents, leaseholders, local councillors, and building users to ensure excellent communication and service delivery.
  • Take responsibility for managing day-to-day repairs, planned maintenance, DFG works, and addressing complaints or legal claims.
  • Use data and performance measures to assess the condition of assets and inform planned maintenance programmes.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and customers, ensuring exceptional service.

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree or HNC in Building Surveying or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Multi Shift Engineer

Up to £26.33 per hour

MMP Consultancy is seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join a private hospital in Central London. The role involves carrying out installation, maintenance, and project tasks related to reactive, planned, and corrective works.

They will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of building plant, systems, and equipment, maintaining high standards of customer service and safety. Candidates will ideally be multi-skilled on mechanical and electrical but with a mechanical bias.

The rate of pay is £26.33ph via an umbrella company, over a 44-hour working week, which is an estimated take home inclusive of holiday pay of £793 per week. The working hours will be 7am - 7pm and 7pm - 7am working days and nights, 4 on 4 off.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance across Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, and other building systems.
  • Provide technical support, including Competent & Authorised Person duties.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers, obtaining quotes and ensuring compliance with site requirements.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within SLAs, with accurate updates provided.
  • Act as a point of contact for shift handovers and communicate effectively with the Estates team.

MMP Consultancy is looking for a skilled Asbestos Surveyor to join an house Compliance team within a Local Authority in Portsmouth, providing support with ad hoc asbestos surveys and sampling requests.

While the P402 qualification is preferable, candidates should demonstrate competence in taking asbestos samples. You may also have the opportunity to assist in the creation of Asbestos Management Plans for various assets across region.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Compliance team with asbestos surveys and sampling requests.
  • Travel to various sites across Portsmouth as required.
  • Potential involvement in the creation of Asbestos Management Plans for different assets.

In this key role, you will be responsible for leading a team of qualified surveyors while ensuring the delivery of a "safety first" culture and providing high-quality, affordable, and customer-focused property management services.

You will play a vital role in the successful delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services across a broad geographical area, overseeing all technical surveying activities, contract management, and legislative compliance.

The salary is £48,065 per annum on a permanent basis with the candidate ideally starting as soon as possible.
Key Accountabilities:
