Sophia joined MMP in May 2021 with previous recruitment experience as a Resourcer and, within 6 months, was promoted to Recruitment Consultant. Sophia is now responsible for delivering Maintenance and Trades recruitment across East London and Essex, building on her own client and candidate relationships.

Damp & Mould Operative

Up to £18 per hour

MMP Consultancy are looking for Damp and Mould Operatives to identify, treat, and prevent damp and mould issues within social housing properties, ensuring safe, habitable living conditions for tenants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect properties for damp and mould, diagnosing the cause and assessing severity.
  • Remove mould and apply anti-mould treatments.
  • Carry out damp proofing and minor repairs related to leaks or ventilation.
  • Advise tenants on preventing damp and mould.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide excellent customer service and work collaboratively with the housing team.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in damp and mould treatment or property maintenance.
  • Knowledge of building structures, damp causes, and prevention.
  • Health & safety awareness and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Full driving license is required

Pay Rate:

  • £18.00ph (Umbrella Rate)

Hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week (Mon to Fri)

2 X Technical Supervisor

Up to £45000.00 per annum

MMP have two new exciting Technical Supervisor opportunities to join a property and facilities group based in East London.

1. Technical Supervisor - Damp & Mould
2. Technical Supervisor - Legal Disrepair

As a Technical Supervisor within their wider repairs & maintenance division, you will supervise a team and be responsible for overseeing and monitoring the performance of trades operatives and where applicable any specialist sub-contractors, monitoring closely compliance, performance and client satisfaction.

About the Role
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, the Technical Supervisors will work collaboratively with other colleagues across the business and within the designated service (either Disrepair or D&M) from first report through to final invoicing to ensure smooth service delivery through effective day to day management. You'll be responsible for people management of a team, so people management experience is a must.

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with the works scheduling team and sub-contractors to ensure accuracy of job information, timely report submissions, suitable allocation of work, and invoicing.
  • Carrying out pre and post inspections to ensure a good standard to work.
  • Assisting the Service Delivery Manager (SDM) in managing the contractors to ensure excellent service delivery, continually looking for process improvements to improve efficiency, costs, and meet agreed targets.
  • Supporting the SDM by providing data, reports and MI (e.g. for quality control and budgetary data).
  • Stakeholder and people management: performance monitoring, attend monthly sub-contractor meetings, liaising with internal and external customers such as legal departments, client representatives, local authorities etc.
  • Managing the day-to-day administration of the team.
  • Attending client/stakeholder panels, consultations, and other meetings.
  • Pro-actively engaging with and acting a point of contact for customers, ensuring all queries and complaints are resolved swiftly.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Trade specific qualification(s) e.g. in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, or a repairs sector common trade.
  • Good IT literacy (including MS Office programmes (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and ability to use relevant job management systems (knowledge of accuserv system would be advantageous)
  • Specialist knowledge/qualifications/qualifying experience of Damp & Mould and/or Legal Disrepair is essential.
  • Prior experience in a Supervisory role (ideally within a responsive repairs/minor works environment).
  • Prior management of specialist sub-contractors would be preferred.
  • Full clean UK driving licence

Salary

  • Starting from £45,000 (DOE) benefits

Working arrangement

  • Full Time - 36 hours per week
  • Location - Dagenham
  • Travel - The role will involve travel to sites within and around the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, as such a full clean UK driving licence is required.

Electrician - CIS

Up to £30 per hour

I am currently recruiting for an Electrician to join an Electrical contractor based in Essex, on a temp to perm basis.

You will be required to travel between East London and Essex.

  • NVQ level 2 and 3
  • City & Guilds 2382: 18th Edition amendment or current edition.
  • Testing and inspection qualification is required - City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent.
  • Basic DBS Check


Pay Rate:

  • £30.00 ph (CIS Rate)


Hours:

  • 35 to 37.5 hours per week (Mon to Fri)

Multi Trade Operative

Up to £36000.00 per annum


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi Trade Operative work for a Contractor based in East London on a permanent basis offering a salary of £36,000. The successful Multi Trade Candidate will be able to work in occupied properties carrying out reactive repairs.

Location:
* East London and Essex.

Working hours
* 08:00am to 17:00pm

You will be required to:
* Multi Trade to complete a variety of trades.
* Carry out repairs and maintenance within social housing properties, occupied.
* Provide your own basic hand and power tools.
* Have experience working within social housing properties.

You will be supplied with:
* Company van
* Fuel card

You must:
* Have use of a smartphone. Jobs will be supplied via an App, BYOD paid at £20.00 a month.
